Hinckley and Bosworth LPU Commander – May 2014

It’s been a busy but productive few months and we are continuing to build on the excellent teamwork we have with our Emergency Service colleagues. One notable example of this was earlier this month, when an elderly man went missing for several hours. As the weather worsened, a co-ordinated search between Emergency Services was mounted.

Due to the vigilance and determination of PC Mike Francis-Lang, the gentleman was found, in a steep ditch, not visible from the road, where he had been for several hours. I am pleased to say that with the help of the County Fire and Rescue Service, the gentleman was rescued from the ditch, and taken to hospital where he made a full recovery.

A number of high profile events have taken place in the Borough with great success, including the Women’s National Cycle Tour. There’s also the Football World Cup being televised in many venues over the summer.  This will make for some great entertainment so enjoy the tournament, but please drink responsibly.

And finally, with the warmer weather around the corner (hopefully!), please deter opportunist criminals, by remembering to lock your vehicles and remove valuables when visiting the Borough’s beauty spots.

A significant element of our work at Hinckley is to tackle the issues that are important to the community. We regularly engage and consult with large part of the community as well as statutory and voluntary partners. I would therefore be grateful if you could take a few minutes to complete our on-line questionnaire and tell us about issues that you feel need tackling. It can be found by visiting this link.

We use the results from this survey to assist us with setting our neighbourhood priorities.

If you want to receive regular policing updates and information about the Hinckley area please sign up to our community messaging system, Neighbourhood Link.
