The last few weeks saw a new trophy come to Hinckley Police Station. The Saville Shield Team award was presented to Hinckley’s Special Constables. Over the last year they have worked tirelessly, and all in their spare time, helping to keep Hinckley and the borough safe. In particular, they have organised and delivered several road crime operations, targeting travelling criminals and road safety issues at key locations around Hinckley and Bosworth. The shield has pride of place in the LPU and is a fitting reminder of the great work that our volunteer police officers carry out.
Two new sergeants have also joined the team. Steve Burge has already taken over the Greater Hinckley team, looking after the parts of the town that sit outside of the town centre. Steve has a wealth of experience in managing offenders and proactively tackling crime, and comes to us after a year with the Force’s Operation Tiger team. Steve has hit the ground running and we look forward to benefitting from his skills. Graeme Thomson has also joined us to head up the Town Centre team. Graeme has recent experience as a Tempory Inspector providing cover around the whole force at major incidents. Again, his skills and experience will be very welcome at the station.
